Coming off the success of its inaugural Hygienix conference in 2015, INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, is geared up for the second edition of the event Oct. 24-27 at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando, FL. Dubbed the premier event for absorbent hygiene and personal care markets, Hygienix will offer a full schedule of conference speakers, workshops, tabletop displays and networking opportunities. Headlining day one of the conference is a diaper workshop from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. presented by diaper expert Carlos Richer, CEO and director of Richer Investment. Richer will lead an in-depth discussion on the latest industry trends and product launches in the diaper industry, while featuring a comparison of American, Chinese and European-made diapers. The discussion will also focus on the latest spate of “eco brands” from the U.S. and Europe. Closing day one is a reception for new attendees from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a welcome reception from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Day two’s full day of events kick offs with a welcome from INDA’s president David Rousse, followed by a trio of presentations on consumer needs. Speakers in this series include Bruce Lavash of Procter & Gamble who will discuss consumer research insights; Tom Wilson, managing partner, CenterBrain Partners, Inc., discussing the adult incontinence market, and Cotton Incorporated’s Janet O’Regan, director, Strategic Initiatives, who will speak on “Feminine Hygiene in the Age of Millenials.” O’Regan’s presentation will focus on Cotton Incorporated’s consumer market research project that sought to understand today’s market for feminine hygiene products in the U.S., Mexico, U.K., France, Germany and Italy. Dynamics included economics, demographics and market shifts in product usage and shopping habits. Market statistics and trends will also be emphasized on day two with reports from Svetlana Uduslivaia of Euromonitor, industry veteran Pricie Hanna of Price Hanna Consultants, Brad Kalil, INDA’s director of market research and statistics, and much more. Day two attendees will also get a glimpse into some of the most interesting products launched in the hygiene and personal care market this year during the Hygienix Award Presentations. This year’s finalists include Kimberly-Clark’s Kleenex Exfoliating Cushions, Sustainable Health Enterprises’ (SHE) Go! Pads and H.B. Fuller’s Conforma Adhesive. The Hygienix Award winner will be announced on day four of the conference, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. Hygienix day three will feature a series of presentations focusing on “Material & Technology Advancements” including the use of banana fibers in menstrual pads; fast superabsorbents for hygiene applications; nanofibers in hygiene and much more. Further, experts from H.B. Fuller, Bostik, Fameccanica.Data S.P.A., Spoolex and more will address other key topics in the industry. Receptions and tabletop events will round-out days two and three. Finally, in addition to the award presentation, Hygienix day four will address smart incontinence management and end of life options for disposable hygiene products.
